1490 Enterprises, Inc. was established in 1969 as a not-for-profit human services center serving low-income residents of Buffalo. The primary purpose of the agency is to provide needed social services to seniors, adults and youth. A large area of the building is used for a Senior Citizen Center. Over one hundred and fifty seniors are served hot lunches daily.

The 1490 Senior Citizens Center Program goals are to reduce social isolation in the communities served, to increase the ability to cope with life's changes, and to ensure contact with other persons. These goals are achieved through informational workshops and social programs on a day-to-day basis and recreational activities such as sewing, crochet, choir rehearsal, exercise classes, pool playing, computer classes, ceramics and various other activities. We also provide transportation on a daily basis to and from the center.
